Biographie
Le groupe débute en 1996 à Santiago du Chili. Six Magics étaient alors composés de: Pablo Stagnaro (batterie), Erick Avila (guitare), Nicolás Espinoza (guitare), Juan Pablo Pizarro (basse) et Sergio Villaroel (chant).
Ils font plusieurs concerts au Chili et reçoivent de bonnes critiques. À l'époque, les paroles sont en espagnol, mais ils envisagent d'écrire en anglais. Après un an, ils font leur premier demo, Trilogía de un Guerrero. En 1998, Juan Pablo quitte le groupe et il est remplacé par Rodolfo Sanchez.. En 1999, nouveau changement quand Sergio Domínguez devient le nouveau chanteur de Six Magics. Avec la nouvelle formation, et l'ajout de Sebastián Carrasco aux claviers, ils commencent à écrire en anglais pour le premier album du groupe.
En janvier 2001, retour en studio. Les paroles sont basées sur l'epic fantasy tout en combinant deux styles: le baroque et le classique. Ce premier album Dead Kings of the Unholy Valley comporte 11 chansons.
Au début 2002, changements dans le groupe. Gabriel Hidalgo est promu nouveau guitariste, il remplace Nicolás Espinoza et Mauricio Nader est à la basse.. En juillet 2002, au Centro de Eventos Laberinto, l'album Dead kings of the Unholy Valley est mis en vente lors d'un concert comptant environ 700 personnes. Durant la même année, le groupe signe un contrat de distribution à travers le monde avec Underground Symphony. En octobre 2002, le groupe enregistre son premier videoclip pour Prince of Pure Light.
La production du nouvel album, The Secrets of an Island, commence en février 2003. Le nouvel opus est entièrement basé sur la mythologie de l'île Chiloé, située au sud du Chili. La session d'enregistrement se termine en septembre et la sortie publique a lieu devant 1 300 personnes au Teatro Providencia le 1er novembre 2003.
En 2004, Six Magics joue un concert au Chili avant de partir en Europe pour favoriser le groupe et étudier certaines propositions reçues préalablement.
Pendant leur voyage en Europe, Six Magics signe un contrat de distribution avec le label français Underclass Music pour la promotion en France.
En mai 2005, le groupe enregistre son premier DVD, Dead Secrets. L'enregistrement a lieu au Teatro Providencia à Santiago du Chili.
En 2007, le groupe travaille sur son troisième album avec le producteur américain David Prater (Dream Theater entre autres). Juin passé, Sergio Domínguez quitte le groupe en bons termes pour intérêts personnels dus à sa vie de famille et à son travail.
Six Magics trouve vite un remplaçant en l'occurence une remplaçante en la personne de Elizabeth Vásquez déjà manager du groupe depuis 11 ans. Elle avait déjà participé à l'écriture de quelques textes pour le groupe. Désormais Six Magics est prêt à finir son nouvel album avec une voix féminine et le nouveau matériel devrait être prêt pour la fin de 2007.
