Six Feet Under (US)

Six Feet Under est un groupe de Death Metal américain fondé en 1993 à Tampa en Floride, en tant que side-project d'Allen West et de Chris Barnes juste avant son départ de Cannibal Corpse, après lequel le groupe est devenu un groupe à part entière. Le groupe joue toutefois un Death mid-tempo à tendance groovy et rock 'n' roll, avec les thèmes Gores chers à son vocaliste.

Le titre "Suffering in Ecstasy" est dédié à la mémoire Mark Hauser
(28 Sept. 1957 - 27 Mai 1995, R.I.P.).

La pochette de l'album est tirée de la VHS d'un film americain intitulé
"The Haunting of Morella" sorti 1990.

Chris Barnes était toujours au sein de Cannibal Corpse cette année là. Six Feet Under était
au départ seulement destiné à être un side project de Chris Barnes et Allen West, mais après
la sortie de cet album, Chris voulait que ce soit son nouveau groupe, en tant que membre permanent.

Cet album s'est vendu à plus de 100000 copies dans le monde, un statut jamais
atteint pendant longtemps par un groupe de Death Metal à la fin des 90's, quand le
style était alors mourant.
