Biographie

Sathanas est un trio de Death/Thrash Metal originaire de New Brighton, Pennsylvanie.
Ils sortent leur démo "Ripping Evil" en 1988 et se font ainsi connaître notamment grâce au morceau "Jaws Of Satan". Un EP datant de 1994 et sorti sur Reaper Records porte également ce nom. En 1999, le premier album, "Armies Of Charon", voit le jour sur Supernal Music. En 2001, le groupe signe un contrat avec Cybertzara Productions qui sort "Black Earth" et "Thy Dark Heavens". Ils effectue ensuite une mini-tournée européenne.
Plus tard dans l'année, Drakkar Productions sort le MCD "Cruentus Diabolos". Sathanas sort ensuite en 2002 un CD intitulé "Jaws Of Satan" qui se présente comme un split entre eux et Bathym, side-project de Paul. Il comprend la démo "Ripping Evil" ainsi que de vieux enregistrements live des deux groupes.
En novembre 2002, l'arrivée du batteur Jim Strauss (ex-Acheron) stabilise le line-up. L'année suivant sort "Warlords Of Death" sur Agonia Records. En 2005, c'est au tour de "Entering The Diabolic Trinity" de sortir sur Pulverised Records. S'en suit une tournée européenne qui culmine avec les apparitions au Festung Open Air et au Extreme Aggression Festival. En 2007, Sathanas sort deux enregistrements inédits, le MCD "Flesh For The Devil" sur Pagan Records et le CD "Hex Nefarious" sur Death To Mankind Records.
Le groupe enregistre "Crowned Infernal" pour Pulverised Records aux studios Inner Tube à Ambridge, Pennsylvanie. Les masters sont ensuite envoyés à Stockholm pour y être mixé par Tore Stjerna aux studios Necromorbus. Ce dernier s'occupe également de l'album suivant, "Nightrealm Apocalypse" qui sort en février 2009 sur Pagan Records. Pour le promouvoir, Sathanas tourne en Europe en mars en compagnie de Nunslaughter.
