  1. Where am I?
Hey, relax, you're in a safe place... or are you?!
Can't you read? Wikimetal! Wiki-metal! Duh! You're on a website (which is a wiki) dedicated to metal music and its culture, trying to gather passionate metalheads around.

  2. Who are you?
    Duuuh... See for yourself.

  3. What's the background of this website?
Wikimetal has been created during the summer 2006, and its gates opened September 13th, 2006. It was first created as a French-language based project, but recently turned into English in order to spread its blasphemies on an international scale.

  4. Do you have any relation with Wikipedia?
    NO.

  5. Why such as website? I already have all I want on Metal-Archives!
Well then get out of here, dumbass. Sure Metal-Archives is great, and this website was not created in order to only take the information there and put it here, that would be pointless. On the other hand, we tend to think that Wikimetal gathers wider kinds of informations. Do they list and put infos about fanzines, labels, distros, artists, etc. on Metal-Archives? I don't think so... Some might like M-A, some might prefer us, some might visit both (as I do), that's the way it is and it's fine. Both websites don't work in the same way. Besides, what if M-A would suddenly disappear? Or a long-term server crash (as they have sometimes)?... Didn't think about all that, huh? Nevermind...

  6. Can you create a page on Wikimetal about << name any band/label/artist/etc. >> ?
NO. The good thing with the wiki system (and its main purpose, really), is that you can create or edit a page yourself. So if you want something to appear here, just do it. Or wait for someone to do it, either way...

  7. How does it work then?
Well... first thing, look at the basic rules and the help. Then you'll have a better idea.

  8. Why can't I create or edit pages without being registered, like on Wikipedia?
Again, we are NOT Wikipedia, get over it. And we force everyone to register for maintenance and user control purposes.

  9. Can I track the activiy on the wiki?
Well, the team tries to keep up-to-date monthly reports so the activity can be easily noticed. They are listed here: Category:Reports.

  10. I have an idea for improvement, or a suggestion, where can I put it?
Why would we care?!... Just kidding, haha. You can express yourself in the sandbox.

  11. Do you have a Myspace page?
    Sure, here: http://myspace.com/wikimetal

  12. Do you have a Facebook page?
    Errr... no.

  13. Do you worship the Devil?
    Only when necessary. Haha.
