Biographie

Axxis est un groupe orienté Power/Heavy-Metal allemand qui a commencé sa carrière en 1988, avec à sa tête le chanteur Bernhard Weiss et aujourd'hui le claviériste Harry Oellers, compositeurs et producteurs du groupe. Le groupe de Dortmund (Allemagne) signa son premier contrat après avoir envoyé une démo d'une seule chanson en 1988 chez Emi Electrola.

En 1989, Axxis gagna le cœur du public avec "Kingdom Of The Night", premier album qui se vendit à 150 000 exemplaires et devint un record pour un groupe de Hard Rock Allemand. L'album "Axxis II" connu le meme succès en 1990, suivi, un an plus tard, par l'authentique et énergique album live "Access All Areas".

L'ambitieux "The Big Rill" cartonna également au Box-Office et fut un véritable tournant dans la vie du groupe. En effet, ce fut la première production internationale du groupe, produite par Joey Balin et enregistrée à Philadelphia.

Ainsi, l'année suivante, le groupe entama une tournée internationale. Le Japon fut une des destinations les plus enrichissantes pour le groupe. Bernhard Weiß et le guitariste Walter Pietsch donnèrent une serie de shows acoustiques pour promouvoir la sortie de l'édition spéciale japonaise du cd "Profile". L'album "Matters Of Survival" fut quant à lui produit en 1995 à Los Angeles par Keith Olsen (Flettwod Mac, Whitesnake, Foreigner, Scorpions). Leur impression de Los Angeles fut responsable du choix du titre de l'album.

Axxis se considèrent plutôt comme un groupe de scène. Leur performance au célèbre "Rock Am Ring" (plus grand festival allemand en plein air) fit très bonne impression et marqua un réel temps fort de la période 1994-1996.

En 2006 : le projet "PROMETHEUS BRAIN PROJECT" un opera rock.
