As I Lay Dying est un groupe de White Metal signé chez Metal Blade Records. Le groupe est plus précisément décrit comme Metalcore, mélangeant les éléments du Metal et du Hardcore.

Biographie
As I Lay Dying est formé en 2001 à San Diego, Californie. Peu de temps après leur formation, le groupe signe avec Pluto Records et sort leur premier album, "Beneath the Encasing of Ashes", en juin 2001.
En 2002, le groupe enregistre de nouveaux morceaux pour un split CD avec American Tragedy, sorti aussi par Pluto Records. Après l'importante tournée et une augmentation en popularité sur le marché, As I Lay Dying signe chez Metal Blade Records au début 2003.
En juillet 2003, le deuxième album, "Frail Words Collapse", sort, suivie par une grande tournée avec Himsa, Shadows Fall, The Black Dahlia Murder, et d'autres groupes.
En juin 2005, le groupe sort le CD "Shadows Are Security" et vont faire la deuxième partie du Ozzfest 2005. En 2006, ils ont accompagné le groupe Bullet For My Valentine lors de leur tournée européenne.
